The Spirit Of ’45 – Special Screening 7th November

SPIRIT OF 45 LUC POSTERThe more politically-minded, rabble-rousing members of staff here in the LUC Bunker (mostly confined to the rapidly dwindling graphics dept.) are all very excited about this latest announcement…

LUC is delighted to announce that, in association with Left Unity Leamington and LAMP we will be presenting a very special screening of Ken Loach’s super documentary The Spirit Of ’45 on Thursday 7th November at LAMP.

The marketing department are currently having the afternoon off with some sort of stress related malady (although we suspect that they are actually camping outside Waterstones to be first in line for the Morrissey autobiography) – so here is a description we lifted straight from the film’s web site:

“An impassioned documentary about how the spirit of unity which buoyed Britain during the war years carried through to create a vision of a fairer, united society.”

This screening will kick off at 7.30 pm – if you promise to be well behaved then we may well throw in a couple of short films to warm everyone up prior to the main feature.

Entry is completely FREE for everyone, although if any members of the coalition cabinet turn up they may want to buy a round of drinks.

Plus as a first for any Leamington Underground Cinema event, this film is rated ‘U’ so it is suitable for absolutely anyone to come and watch.
