Festival Kickstarter final push – win our ipad mini

Hey everyone – Our kickstarter campaign ends tomorrow (Sunday) night and we still need a boost to hit our target. So if we are able to reach our target by the deadline – we will select one backer at random to win LUC’s very own ipad mini (as you can imagine the timewasters in the IT dept are in uproar).

http://kck.st/1SsyWY1

Of course, in addition to the possibility of winning the ipad, there are also loads of cool rewards available for backers from £3 upwards. If we can get to £2500 then we will be able to expand the programme and keep ticket prices as low as possible.

…and so it begins… LUC FESTIVAL 2015

Despite the best advice of our lawyers, accountants, doctors, herbalists and soothsayers LUC is putting on the 3rd annual Leamington Underground Cinema Festival from the 7th to the 14th of November 2015. As usual we will be doing all sorts of feature screenings and events at venues all around the town.

The programme will be announced in August, but before that we will be strategically leaking info as and when we can on some of the exciting cinematic diversions that we are working on.

Once again we will be running a Kickstarter campaign to sell festival passes and help pay for the whole thing – our motivation and bribery panel is currently working on some exciting rewards for those visionary souls who would like to get involved. Give us a shout at lucfestival@gmail.com if you’d like to know more about getting involved as a sponsor.

As usual our captive art expert Christine Cuddihy is hard at work perfecting the festival’s visual identity – she’s already done this brilliant poster which you will be seeing plenty more of in the coming months…

LUC Festival 2015 Announced

Because we just haven’t learned our lesson yet, the Leamington Underground Festival 2015 will take place from the 7th to 14th November at venues around the town.

It is early days but we are looking at some very exciting events this year – including another instalment of the LUC Short Film Prize, submissions are already open for this contest which once again has a £1000 prize with a super low entry fee. Filmmakers are invited to submit their sub-15 minute masterpieces via the FilmFreeway site.

As ever the finance committee are sitting nervously in the corner try to work out how we are actually going to pay for the whole thing. If you are interested in sponsoring the festival, taking advantage of all the perks and good karma that will come your way, please get in touch via lucfestival@gmail.com. We will have some more formalised sponsorship packages available in the next couple of months, but please give us a shout if you want to get in early and have your name associated with this fine event as soon as possible.

The proper artwork will be on its way sometime soon (although the smell of what we hope is joss sticks floating out of the art dept doesn’t suggest that it is a hive of activity) – in the meantime please enjoy this functional announcement poster:
