AIRPLANE! is our January Screening

Now fully revealed, our screening on January 21st is the comedic classic AIRPLANE!

To help comprehensively blow away the early 2018 blues, this timelessly hilarious film will be preceded by a very special film quiz, with some suitably cinematic prizes on offer.

The fun kicks off at The Drawing Board from 7pm – tickets are just £8 on the door or in advance from wegottickets right here. You can also buy tickets from the venue in advance.

The Drawing Board will be offering some thematic drinking fun to help you overcome any Ted Striker-esque drinking problems you may have.

Get out there and win one for the zipper!

THEY LIVE & PREDATOR screenings at Leamington Camouflage Festival

LUC is teaming up with Playing The Field for two camouflage themed screenings at Foundry Wood on 2nd & 3rd September as part of the Leamington Camouflage Festival.

they live flyer 1On Friday 2nd, we present present John Carpenter’s classic 1988 cult satire action flick They Live.

When a drifter, played by Rowdy Roddy Piper, comes into possession of some very special sunglasses, he is able to see the world as it really is – an oppressive nightmare where the ruling class are really a bunch of evil aliens manipulating the masses behind a seamless facade. It also contains the longest fight scene in cinema history – so something for everyone.

Also at this screening Dr Daniel Winchester will be presenting his findings on paranormal extraterrestrial happenings in the local area – you will be shocked and amazed.

At this screening Dr Winchester will also be presenting his findings on a shocking tale of extraterrestrial invasion in Leamington Spa – oh yes.

OVER THE TOP 14th September at The Town House

Our grubby off-shoot, the Masochist Film Club presents the sweaty, awkward, cocaine-fuelled mess that is 1987’s Over The Top. Screening at The Town House on Monday 14th September, we are delighted that this will form part of the brilliant Scalarama – The Unofficial Month Of Cinema.

Over the top POSTER_FLYERJoin Sylvester Stallone as truck driver Lincoln Hawk (or Hawx? or Hawks?), on a journey to re-connect with his estranged son, whilst also trying to win a fortune (and a new truck) through the surprisingly popular world of competitive arm wrestling.

Racking up an impressive three nominations at the Golden Raspberry Awards, Over The Top is a film that is far, far, far worse than you may remember. Stallone only agreed to do it when he got offered a record $12 million, although as he has a writing credit he should probably shoulder some of the blame.

Featuring acting that would make a drama teacher self harm, sub-plots that make less sense than Kanye West’s performance at Glastonbury and the kind of parenting that should end up with at least one person in prison, Over The Top is a crazed treat for the discerning film masochist.

Tickets for this intimate screening at the Town House are just £5 each, you can buy them now from wegottickets. Space is limited so get in quick to avoid disappointment. Doors 7.30pm – Film 8.00pm
