Film Bingo is back on 13th November

Pay attention and put down that laser-firing watch – Leamington Underground Cinema brings Film Bingo back to the Cask & Bottle on Thursday 13th November.

As usual we will be giving you three chances to win £50 using your film recognising abilities. The first game starts at 8, but bingo cards will be on sale from 7.30.

All spy gadgets and firearms will be confiscated by the management and any boiler suited henchmen/evil cats should be left at the door.

This Is Spinal Tap – screening 26th April

spinal tap poster 1000pxFollowing our pop-up cinema season celebrating the (responsibly enjoyed) wonders of drinking, LUC and The Cask and Bottle now bring you a selection of cinema’s finest musical moments.

Of course we had no choice but to start with 1984’s legendary rockumentary This Is Spinal Tap.

Quite possibly the funniest film ever made, join the Tap as they embark on a promotional tour of the US in support of their landmark LP ‘Smell The Glove’.

Join us for the feature at 9pm – the soundtrack for the evening will be played in Dobly and the dress code is, of course, an Australian’s Nightmare. This is another LUC Pay What You Want event, so please contribute if you want more events like this and you would like to increase your Karma level.

PLEASE NOTE: ANY DRUMMERS PRESENT ARE ADVISED TO EXERCISE EXTREME CAUTION.

Very special DREDD screening on May 10th

DREDD POSTERLUC is teaming up with Leamington’s premier pop-up Comic book store, Comics Etc. for a very special screening of DREDD.

Forget the terrible Stallone version from 1995, this is the 2012 version starring Karl Urban, scripted by Alex Garland.

Action packed, hugely stylish and mega-violent – DREDD is a fantastic cinematic adaptation of the classic 2000AD character.

Join us at The Cask & Bottle from 8pm for an exclusive pre-screening quiz with some fantastic prizes, enjoy the wide range of beer and settle in for 95 minutes of blistering sci-fi carnage.

Tickets for this event are £5 and will be available form Comics Etc. – who are at The Clarendon every Saturday from midday – and also on sale at all LUC events in the coming weeks including Blackfish, Spinal Tap and film bingo. If you feel like a drink while you purchase you can also grab them from the bar at the Cask or the Clarendon.

Each ticket will be numbered and some very cool merchandise will be raffled off at the end of the film – as well as two free tickets to the first Leamington Comic Con.

Withnail & I screening Saturday 25th

WandICaskPoster1000pxLeamington Underground Cinema and The Cask and Bottle are teaming up to bring you a pop-up cinema season of the greatest movies for the discerning modern drinker.

First up is the endlessly quotable and agreeably sozzled 1987 classic, Withnail & I, screening on the evening of Saturday 25th January – in a pub as the filmmaker’s no doubt intended.

Tickets for this exclusive screening are just £5 and – for those that like to demand some booze – include one free drink from this selection taken from the epic list of substances consumed in the film, all of which are far superior to meths:
– a large sherry
– one of our famous gin and tonics
– a pint of cider (ice in the cider)
– a whisky
– a pint of ale
– a glass of (fine) wine.

(rumours of cake are circulating)

The feature will be kicking off at 9.30, but there may well be some special cinematic treats prior to that. You can get tickets on the door, but to be sure of your place you can purchase them from either The Cask & Bottle, or The Clarendon right now.

Any fucker missing this will definitely rue the day!
